In the state of Pennsylvania, a pharmacist is a licensed healthcare professional who is responsible for dispensing prescription medications, providing drug information to patients and healthcare providers, and advising patients on the proper use of their medications. Pharmacists in Pennsylvania must graduate from an accredited pharmacy school and pass the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE). They must also complete continuing education requirements to maintain their license.
